Tight shut off of the valve, when it remains closed depends noronlyon the surface finish of the disc and nozzle but also on the alignment of the' valve stem disc holder and disc in a truely vertical line. Normally when a relief valve is fixed to a vessel or

pipe and the outlet is connected to a blow down header by a pipe line, due to stresses by the connecting pipe lines the vertical axis of the valve is shifted introducing misalignment of the valve internals. This is over come by the self aligning feature of Teleflo Standardised Relief Valves.
